We Can Do It! Rosie Glass (set of 2)
As the years go by, Rosie the Riveter gets more popular. She has been embraced as a symbol of women’s empowerment. Yet during the start of her career, little was known about her until years later when she (artwork) slipped out of the Westinghouse poster vault and was shared with the nation. The “We can do it!” war cry is relatable to scores of women and their passions today. You can preserve that spirit as you enjoy a beverage from one of these two colorful 16 oz. glasses sporting Rosie, the Riveter. Share the other with your kindred spirit.
This now well-known J Howard Miller poster was commissioned in 1942 by the Westinghouse Company's War Production Coordinating Committee, one of many such committees under the supervision of the War Production Board. Originally displayed only at Westinghouse factories, the poster was intended to discourage employee strikes and absences.
