Jim Clark and Team Lotus scored a famous victory in the Indianapolis 500 on May 31st, 1965. The British team came and dominated the race at the fabled "brickyard", Jimmy driving the Lotus-Ford type 38. He set numerous records during the race with a winning speed of 150.686 mph recording the first win ever for a rear-engine car in the Indy 500 and a first victory for a Ford engine. The original painting shows Jimmy's winning Lotus leading A.J.Foyt in the early laps, through turn two. From victory lane the car entered Henry Ford Museum as part of their collections.
