The Henry Ford, an independent nonprofit organization celebrating the American experience of innovation, ingenuity and resourcefulness.
This delicate 16” necklace is graced with a mini black automotive retaining ring as the main feature in the center. The cute element is significant as being from what Detroit is known for: cars. Each handmade treasure (of the collection) is rooted in American automobile heritage and sweet as it seems, it has a much broader mission for those that make them. This piece comes to us from the vision of a true entrepreneur looking to change the world, create good energy, seek new methods to do things while rivalling norms and once reaching a plateau she passionately moves to the next level. Being a past abused survivor herself, Joanne Ewald leads female survivor-makers to create earrings, bracelets and necklaces by hand. Each piece carries a special significance to the makers that helps them personally rebuild confidence, activate healing and progress with independence. The automotive elements are donated by local resources to assist this nonprofit to success.
