Compote Bowl
This compote happens to be one of the most popular handmade molded glass pieces made in the Greenfield Village Glass shop. It has an interesting backstory that dates back to 19th century, Pittsburgh.
This compote was popular for its sturdiness and pleasant round lines. The heavy ribs characteristic to the pattern accentuated the brilliance of the glass and added strength to the item. Pillar molded glass was referred to as "riverboat glass" as it was frequently used on Ohio River steamboats.
For a limited time, the Greenfield Village glass blowers will be offering this compote in a modern palette of crystal with amber, grass or lake.
