1968 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet, 1:18 scale
The 428 Cobra Jet engine was a version of the 428 engine built to perform rather than cruise along on roads smoothly. The 428 Cobra Jet was available in Mustang coupes and fastbacks, Ford Torino's, Mercury Cougars and Cyclones.
Another feature that was included with all 1968 Mustang 428 Cobra Jets was the GT-type front fog lamps and a side "C" stripe. The models also sported a black scoop and hood stripe.
Hot Rod fans were amazed at how the Mustang 428 Cobra Jet zoomed to victory at the 1968 NHRA Winter nationals. At 120 mph, it had 11.5 second ETs and left competitors in the wind in the Super Stock class. The outstanding news about this performance got out to the public and many hot rod fans were so impressed that they were able to identify that engine at a mere glance.
This die cast model measures 10"L x 4"W x 3.3"D. Doors and hood open.
